Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Mian Waheed-ud-Din, Chief Secretary Azad Jammu and Kashmir called on Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir here today to congratulate him on the successful passage of 13th amendment relating to the AJK Council Reforms.
The President said that the passage of this historic reform package will provide legislative, administrative and financial powers to the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir helping to open the doors to a new phase of development and prosperity.
On the occasion, the Chief Secretary apprised the President of the administrative measures being taken after the passage of the 13th amendment to help streamline governance and promote better service delivery to the people of AJK. He assured the President that the entire government machinery would be geared towards effectively utilizing additional financial resources for the development and economic prosperity of the state.
President Masood Khan said that amongst other development initiatives it is also imperative to promote tourism in AJK. He said to determined and concrete steps must be taken to modernize tourism and turn it into an organized industry. He advised establishing new and modern accommodations facilities, as well as the construction of theme parks, adventure parks and motels for attracting tourists
The Chief Secretary also informed the President of the extension and renovation of the Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot airports. The President said that or on the two airports may be completed soon to help facilitate people coming to Azad Kashmir.
