ISLAMABAD: Haroon Akhtar, Special assistant to Prime Minister (PM) on Revenue and federal minister has said government will not disappoint the people in the budget for the fiscal 2018-19 and government wants to take along opposition for presenting budget for the next financial year.

“ Government hopes to collect over 5 to 6 billion dollars from Tax Amnesty Scheme and it will help scale down current accounts deficit. Pakistan will not have to go to IMF or some one else”, he said this while talking to media men after draw in FBR Headquarters on Friday.

“We can present budget but government is focusing on working out budget by taking along opposition and with its consultation, he held.

Amendment in section 214 for granting exemption to salaried class from tax audit is not being made under pressure from army or some other institution, he declared. We have been enjoying support of army in connection with audit, he added.
