ISLAMABAD: (Parliament Times) Chairman Public Accounts Committee of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council Pervaiz Akhtar has said that “public money is a sacred trust and government servants are its custodians”.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of the committee here on Tuesday. Pervaiz Akhtar said that government servants should ensure that every penny from the government exchequer was spent with utmost care.

He said that Azad Kashmir will be brought at par with Pakistan as far as development was concerned.

Member AJK Council Mukhtar Ahmed Khan Abbasi, Joint Secretary AJK Council Sectt Usman Sarosh Alvi, Secretary of the Committee Waqar Hussain Abbasi, heads of attached departments of AJK Council and senior officers of the AJK Council Sectt were also present.

The PAC reviewed the audit reports for the years 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16.

The PAC discussed in detail the audit paras, its replies and action taken by the concerned quarters and where found appropriate, settled the paras subject to verification by the audit department.
