ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will play an important role in enhancing regional connectivity.

In an interview with PTV, he said the mega project will be a game changer for Pakistan.

Ahsan Iqbal said Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan will become gateways of CPEC.

He said Trade Zones will be set up in Islamabad, all the four provinces, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, and FATA.

He said Chinese and Pakistani companies will make large-scale investment in these zones, which will not only create new jobs, but also help transfer new technology to Pakistan.

The Interior Minister said a special force of some 10,000 security personnel has been constituted for providing security to the people working on CPEC related projects.
