MIRPUR (AJK ), (Parliament Times) : “The Punjab Governor and the provincial Chief Minister may wear Police uniform on formal occasions like review of parades, while addressing Police Darbars, visiting Police Establishments or any such occasion as specified, for encouraging the Police personnel and troops”, an official notification said.
Our Special Jammu and Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur AJK that according to an official notification, issued by Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, (PSP, QPM), dated January 30, 2024, titled “Amendment in Punjab Police Dress Regulations”, said that in exercise of the powers conferred upon him ( IGP) under Article 10 (3) read with Article 27 of the Police Order and Rule 4.2 (2) of Police Rules 1934, following Amendments in ‘ Punjab Police Dress Regulations ‘ as above, have been made with immediate effect.
Referring to other Police uniform Items including Badges and Ranks, the Notification said that the Governor of Punjab may wear the words ‘Governor Punjab’, made of standard silver metal, to be worn on shoulder straps of the shirt.
Similarly, the Chief Minister of Punjab may wear the words ‘CM Punjab’, made of standard silver metal, to be worn on shoulder straps of the shirt, the Notification added
