Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan on Friday said that the incumbent government has introduced landmark reforms in education system whereby a transparent and merit based system has been put in place to provide jobs to unemployed educated youth.

The AJK premier made these remarks while addressing annual prize distribution ceremony at Science Model College in Muzaffarabad. Minister for Revenue Sardar Farooq Sikandar, member AJK Assembly Dr.Bashir Mustafa, Raja Arif and officials of the Education Department attended the ceremony.

The PML-N government he said had replaced the old-system with restoration of merit based system that offers equal employment opportunities to all without any discrimination. Seeking support of the society for supremacy of merit and rule of law in the region he said, in past gold medalists remained jobless while the persons with influences got the jobs.

“Modern techniques of education are going to be replaced to end the frustrated system”, he said. The AJK PM on the occasion thanked Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Shahbaz Sharif for providing Rs.1.5 billion to AJK government. He said 750 million would be spent on eradication of unemployment and 750 million of the aid money will be used for the provision of scholarships to needy students on merit.

He warned that special care should be taken while using the social media as it has spread indecency in the society. He said dialogues would be organized between students and officials for learning of the students regarding government working mechanism, government performance, legislation, administration, and development program.

About human rights situation in occupied Kashmir, he condemned continuing Indian efforts to suppress Kashmiris’ struggle for their right to self-determination by inhuman tactics including torture, arbitrary arrests, and extra-judicial killings.

He said Pakistan was incomplete until Kashmir became the part of its territory. He dubbed Indian acts in held Kashmir genocide. He said raids on residences of Kashmiri leaders, coercive measures and repression by Indian authorities cannot break the resolve of the brave people for expressing solidarity with South Kashmir. The Prime Minister said implicating Kashmiri leaders in false cases and summoning them to courts time and again was another abhorrent element of Indian strategy.

He said the international community must not remain silent over the outrageous violations of due process of law by the Indian government in cases of Kashmiri leaders who are resisting illegal occupation. Meanwhile addressing a conference at Jehlum Valley, the AJK Premier said that it was a great honor for the members of the Assembly to pass the”Khattam-e-Nabowwat” bill.

Pir Ali Raza Bukhari member Assembly presided over the Conference. Minister for Information, Tourism and Information Technology Mushtaq Minhas, minister for Revenue Sardar Farooq Sakindar, MLA Dr.Bashir Mustfa and others speakers also addressed the conference.
