ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has accepted partly the petition filed by Maryam Nawaz against Accountability Court (AC) February 02 decision for recording her statement through video link.
A 2-member bench of IHC comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb took up for hearing a petition filed by Maryam Nawaz seeking nullification of AC February 02 decision .

Amjid Pervez counsel for Maryam Nawaz said the AC decision for recording Maryan Nawaz statement through video link is against the fair trial. It is therefore requested that this decision should either be set aside and if it is not nullified then directives be issued that representative and lawyer of Maryam Nawaz will remain present in Pakistan high commission London during recording of statement.

The court issued directives that representative and lawyer of Maryam Nawaz are permitted to remain present during recording of statement so that norms of fair trial could be met.
