ISLAMABAD: The CDA top officials, ministers and key social figures are stated to be behind mushrooming illegal marriage halls in rural and urban areas of federal capital.
Marriage halls have been constructed illegally on CDA land worth billion of rupees in Islamabad. Credible evidence are available about involvement of CDA Board member in these encroachments raised in the name of marriage halls.
Sources said that the CDA Board member has fixed his commission on marriage halls and he collects over 3 million rupees every month on account of rent of marriage halls. Former director Ayub who was right hand man of Asad Mehmood Kayani who has been retired a month before is performing duty illegally wity by passing Director RP Arshid Chohan in planning. All the illegal marriage halls and illegal housing societies are operating under this retired director of CDA.
As many as 4 among dozens of illegal marriage halls are operating in sector E-11 under the patronage of Pirs of Golra Sharif.
4 marriage halls located in Chatha Bakhtawar are stated to be running by relatives of state minister of CADD Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry. This land is meant for residential plots while the marriage halls have been constructed without obtaining NOC from CDA.
Dozens of marriage halls constructed unlawfully in sectors E-11 and E-12 are being sponsored by Pirs of Golra Sharif. They are stated to be backed by law enforcement agencies.
When contacted ,CDA director building control Faisal Naeem told this correspondent that about 70 marriage halls are running illegally in federal capital as per CDA record. Neither any NOC has been obtained for running these marriage halls nor do they fulfill the legal requirements set by CDA. We have no confirmed reports who are behind these marriage halls. The case is sub judice therefore, court will take action against those found involved in this scam. If court orders us to abolish these marriage halls we will demolish them within a minute.
