ISLAMABAD: Neighborhood Watch Committees (NWCs) have been set up in federal capital for the protection of life and property of the citizens besides ensuring their security.
The committees have been formed under the directives of Dr Sultan Azam Taimoori. According to police spokesperson, SSP Islamabad Najib ur Rehman Bagvi has issued directives to all the officers to arrange meetings with the NWCs of their respective zones.
The IG Islamabad has further directed police officers to promote community policing at the most and forge interaction with the citizens so that the distance between police and common man could be bridged.
