MUZAFFARABAD:(Parliament Times) Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir met with various delegations that called on him today at the Presidency here in Muzaffarabad.
During a call on by AJK Member Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Shehzad Mahmood, the President was apprised of various development and construction projects initiated in Muzaffarabad. The President stressed that the early completion of the projects must be ensured in order to facilitate the general public. President AJK also proposed making Pir-Chinasi a tourist attraction for the locals and tourists coming from other regions of Pakistan, by providing modern tourist facilities and quality lodging.
In another meeting, a delegation headed by Raja Aftab Ahmad, Nazim Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba AJK and Gilgit Baltistan called on the President and informed him of various issues and matters concerning students of the region. The President urged that coordination between the students of AJK and Gilgit Baltistan needed to be enhanced so that their relevant issues are appropriately highlighted. President AJK added that scholarships will be introduced for competent, deserving and financial weak students in Azad Kashmir.
President Masood Khan while talking to the delegation emphasized the need for greater collaboration between various student bodies in helping raise the issue of Kashmir at the national and international level. President AJK condemned the unabated use of force by the Indian Occupation forces in IOK. He added the students must use traditional and modern communications mediums to raise the profile of the issue and help the Kashmiris attain their just right to self-determination in the true spirit of the United Nations Resolutions.
During a call on meeting by a delegation from AJK-TV (PTV), the President was informed of various issues faced by the personnel of Muzaffarabad Center. The President assured their issues in this regard would be addressed at the soonest. President AJK praised the outreach and role of the AJK-PTV center in projecting the cause of Kashmir and quashing malicious Indian propaganda in regard to the situation in IOK.
