Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Chairman Steering Committee Sports Punjab, Hanif Abbasi has said that health, education and basic infrastructure’s upgradation projects worth Rs 72 billion have been completed during the last five years.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of 3rd Science Exhibition here Thursday at Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC), he said that billions of rupees have been allocated by Chief Minister Punjab for mega projects in twin cities including, Metro bus service, Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology, Urology hospital and other mega projects. He said other projects include, appointing teachers in educational institutions, construction of new blocks and supplying of clean drinking water.
Hanif Abbasi claimed that record reforms and development projects have been completed by the present government, saying it was hardest to find example of such projects during the last seventy years. He said it was for the first time in the history that play grounds of international standard have been constructed in educational institutions. He said players of international repute would emerge from these grounds who will kindle the name of the country and Rawalpindi city. He said government was providing opportunities to students for circular and non-circular activities. He appreciated role of a private educational group for promotion of education.
On this occasion, Head of Pakistan Sweet Home, Zamurd Khan, Director Punjab Colleges, Muhammad Akram, Principal, Akhtar Shad, Vice Principal, Hira Riaz Chohan, faculty members and numbers of students were also present.
Judges of the Science Exhibition were, Dean Environment Faculty, Pir Mehr Ali Shah University of Arid Agriculture (PMAS UAAR), Dr. Azeem Khalid, Govt College Satellite Town, Dr. Taj, Cadet College Hasan Abdal Mirza Saeed and Govt Model College Islamabad Aamir Amin.
Hira Riaz Chohan told the participants of the Science exhibition that it was third exhibition of its kind and two exhibitions have been arranged successfully. She said 35 stalls related to Science and Technology were displayed during the exhibition. Students belonging to Rawalpindi, Jund, Talagang and Gujjar Khan campuses took part in the exhibition.
