MIRPUR (AJK): Azad Jammu & Kashmir Police is seriously contemplating to reactivate Citizen-Police Liaison Committees (CPLCs) in all AJK districts in order to maintain an encourage close liaison and mutual cooperation between the citizens and the police for overcoming the crimes and maintain peace and order in the respective areas, official sources said.

The idea to this effect is being matrialised soon, the sources underlined adding that higher authorities are fully agreed to the idea for the revival of the CPLCs in AJK districts including Mirpur for maintaining close liaison between police and the citizens to exchange due mutual cooperation for maintaining peace through combating against the social evils and the anti-social elements.

The AJK Police is seriously contemplating to move for the revival of the Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) in the district comprising highly credible and good reputed notables belonging to all segments of the society.

Official sources told this Correspondent here on Wednesday that Mirpur district CPLC comprising seasoned good reputed brains representing different classes of the society including members from legal experts, social and peace activists, business fraternity, journalists and retired officials of police and the civil administration were proposed to be reformed soon.

The sources said that the proposed reactivation with re-formation of the Mirpur district CPLC will be primarily a pilot project to move for maintaining close liaison between police and the citizens comprising good reputed notables from all classes of the society for exchanging and sharing due info to discourage the crimes through wiping out anti-social elements from the society from their roots, the sources said.
