ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved judgment on petition filed with reference to Election Act-2017.

During the course of hearing of the case, Justice Aamir Farooq remarked “ give the reply of show cause notice to Election Commission. If election commission passes any order against you then you can challenge it in the court.

A single bench of IHC presided over by Justice Aamir Farooq took up for hearing Tuesday petition filed by four political parties.

Hafiz Sufian advocate appeared in the court on Tuesday on behalf of Pakistan Muslim League, Sadaye Pakistan Party, Pakistan Democratic Front and Democratic Party of Pakistan.

He argued election commission issued show cause notices on registration of political parties with reference to election act-2017 which is illegal. As per existing amendment it is incumbent on every registered party to deposit Rs 200000 and file identity cards of 2000 party workers along with their affidavits.

The court after hearing the arguments reserved judgement.
