Islamabad : The government of Saudi Arabia has made the verification of biometric compulsory for Umrah pilgrims from 10th of January.
As per document received with Online, from 10th instant , all Umrah and Hajj pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia would be bound to ensure their verification on biometric.
Sources said that after receiving direction from Saudi Arabia, Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued necessary instructions to all concerned companies regarding Pakistani pilgrims. He added that this initiative has been taken for the protection and provision of better services to Umrah and Hajj pilgrims of various countries.
“All the persons entering in Saudi Arabia would be bound to abide by the Saudi laws as Saudi government gives significance to its guests, however the Umrah and Hajj pilgrims would have to follow the Saudi laws”, sources added.
It is worth mentioning here that Saudi government had postponed the verification of bio metric twice during last few months due to inappropriate arrangements of companies who have licence for sending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for Umrah and Hajj but after the assurance from them, the Saudi government has made it compulsory the verification of biometric system.
