Lahore: Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) and other opposition parties Monday announced to launch a countrywide protest movement from January 17 against ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for Model Town massacre on July 17, 2014 till toppling of the PMML-N government.
Talking to media persons here after the meeting of the Opposition parties, he said, that “Now the resignations would be taken by force not be begged”, adding the protest movement would be started from Lahore. “We will not beg for resignations but would take by force”, now entire PML-N would be toppled, he said, adding all decisions made with the consensus of religious party leaders.
Tahir-ul-Qadri disclosed that an Action Committee has been constituted for future course of action, which would be comprising on Liaquat Baloch, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Kamil Ali Agha, Sheikh Rashid, Nasir Shirazi, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and other prominent leaders. He further said Action Committee would be having all options including toppling of the government.
“Our deadline abolished yesterday (Sunday) and demands were not met”, he added. He said, earlier we were demanding for resignation of Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif and Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah but now entire government would be toppled. He said PML-N government would be held accountable for her each and every crime. He alleged that PML-N government also burgled on Khatam-e-Nabuwat to save its incompetency.
Before the steering committee meeting PAT Chairman Tahirul Qadri has met with AML head Sheikh Rashid and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) central leader Jahangir Tareen. Khurram Nawaz Gandapur on this occasion said that he has contacted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Jahanghir Tareen, Pakistan Peoples Party representative Manzoor Watto, Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid to attend the meeting. Resignations are not given, but taken, Gandapur remarked, adding that the opposition has waited too long and now it was time to take serious decisions.
