Islamabad: Supreme Court in a suomoto case regarding cutting of trees has summoned Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtoonkha, Secretary Environment and Secretary Mining.
A three member bench led by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar heard the case. During the hearing, Chief Justice remarked that apex court to bring improvement in education and health system in 2018. He further termed it as a nexus that the court orders were not being implemented. He made it clear that everyone has to implement Supreme Court’s orders whether it was administration or someone else.
He added everyone becomes active after the apex court. How long we will make promises, he said, adding how long people will recall us promises. He said basic purpose of Supreme Court would be improving health and education system in 2018.
Chief Justice said there were numbers of complaints regarding lease in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa. He observed that beautiful hills have been ruined in Katas Raj. He added that the burden would be on Secretaries if irregularities are counted. Justice Ejas-ul-Hasan called the need to monitor the environment regularly. The hearing of the case was adjourned till today (Thursday)
