LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered for publicizing Model Town incident report within 30 days.
A division bench of LHC presided over by Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh has issued the orders for releasing the inquiry report. on the appeal of the Punjab government against the LHC’s earlier directives to disclose the report on the incident.
The court rejected Punjab government intra court appeal besides directing that inquiry report be provided to the parties concerned.
Trial of Model town tragedy is running in the Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) and this decision will not influence the trial.
Talking to media men after the court verdict PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said high court decision is a vital step towards justice. Government is left with no other option than making public the inquiry report. High court verdict on model town incident is a good omen.
