MIRPUR (AJK): “Jammu & Kashmir State is an inalienable entity and no power on earth could resort to any harm to this centuries old entity of the Himalayan state through its division in any of the form”, said Zulfiqar Ahmed Raja, Advocate, Central Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Peoples National Party and Ex President District Bar Association Mirpur.
Talking to journalists here on Sunday, he declared that durable, just and practicable solution of the lingering issue of Kashmir lies only in the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Lamenting over the recent reported statement of the AJK’s former Prime Minister Sardar Sikander Hayat Khan over the division of Jammu & Kashmir on ethnic and religious grounds, the JK PNP chief categorically said that the people of entire Jammu & Kashmir state would neither allow and nor accept the disintegration of the Jammu & Kashmir state – since freedom of the Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir and reunification of entire Jammu & Kashmir state is the ultimate destination of the people of the state – who are struggling for the achievement of their birth right of self determination under the spirit of the international norms and commitments.
Raja Zulfiqar observed that such vested interest power politicians always focused for the achievement of their selfish motives by floating such unwarranted, unjustified and uncalled for ideas instead of encouraging the sincere endeavors of the people of the Jammu & Kashmir state for securing the legitimate right of self determination – for which they were struggling for the last 70 years, he added.
“The people of Jammu & Kashmir were not bound to accept Tashquent and Shimla According or Lahore or Agra agreement since they (Kashmiris) were not party to these agreements”, the ex DBA President categorically said. Zulfiqar Raja called for early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue through tripartite talks among Pakistan, India and the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
He underlined that Jammu & Kashmir state comprising five units of AJK, GB, occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh regions, is the inalienable entity and no power on earth could resort to any harm to this historical entity of the J & K state.
The ex DBA Chief called for early peaceful settlement of the Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the people of the Jammu & Kashmir state without further loss of time.
Raja Zulfiqar Advocate said that people of Jammu & Kashmir from both sides of the LoC should be included in the composite dialogue between India and Pakistan, when ever the talks are resumed, to ensure the early resolution of the decades old Kashmir dispute in line with the aspirations of the people of the state.
Zulfiqar Raja reminded to the UNO to fulfill its commitments for holding the plebiscite in Jammu & Kashmir under the spirit of its historic resolutions for the early settlement of the Kashmir problem. He declared that Jammu & Kashmir is the centuries old single entity and every global attempt to divide the internationally-acknowledged disputed state on ethnic or otherwise ground will be strongly resisted and frustrated.
Expressing grave concern over the ongoing escalation on the line of control following the ongoing frequent unprovoked incidents of Indian firing from across the LoC, the DBA President observed that it seemed yet another attempt was being maneuvered to sabotage the Kashmiris earnest wishes for the peaceful settlement of Kashmir conflict.
He pointed out that the unprovoked firing by the Indian troops from across the LoC on forwards areas of AJK have forced hundreds of the inmates to shift to the safer places besides facing loss to their properties.
Raja Zulfiqar demanded the inclusion of the people of Jammu & Kashmir in to composite dialogue between India and Pakistan – whenever it resumed, ensuring the resolution of the Kashmir issue according to their wishes in view of their being the major party to the dispute, he maintained.
The DBA reiterated that the people of Jammu & Kashmir would continue their freedom struggle with full vigor till the achievement of the goal.
Raja Zulfiqar warned that further delay in settlement of the Kashmir conflict in line with the aspirations and wishes of the people of Jammu & Kashmir might aggravate the situation in the South Asian region following perpetuation of the issue further more. Kashmir, he declared, is not a territorial dispute between the two countries – rather it involves the future of 10.60 million people of Jammu & Kashmir state.
