ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir reserved the decision regarding the clubbing of three references filed against Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday after hearing the arguments of Nawaz Sharif’s counsel Khawaja Harris and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor regarding the three references.

The judgement is likely to be announced later this day in the afternoon by judge Muhammad Bashir.

Nawaz’s senior counsel Khawaja Haris argued before the accountability court that there should be one reference and one trial as the references are identical and witnesses are also same.

NAB prosecutor was against this and opposed hearing of the three references together.

Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt (Retired) Muhammad Safdar also appeared before the court earlier in the morning.

Due to a petition by Nawaz Sharif, the IHC on Thursday November 2 had directed the accountability court to re-hear a plea seeking to club the three references against him and issue a detailed order giving the legal reasons of its earlier decision of not clubbing the references.

Meanwhile Nawaz Sharif and Maryum Nawaz left the judicial complex after Harris and NAB prosecutor had presented their arguments and the court then went into a short recess, allowing the accused to exit the courtroom.
