RAWALPINDI: (Parliament Times) The Surgical Workshops being organized by the local chapter of Society of Surgeons of Pakistan were being continued in the prominent hospitals of twin cities in connection with International Surgical Week from Nov. 2-11. The theme of this international event is Evidence Based Surgery.

This was revealed by the President Society of Surgeons of Pakistan, Rawalpindi/Islamabad chapter, Surgeon Dr. Naeem Zia in Rawalpindi on Saturday. He informed that five workshops on Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy, Surgical Ethics, Endoscopy, Laparoscopic Bariatic Surgery and Breast Surgery Symposin had so far been held in which the eminent surgeons and physicians Dr. Shahzia Fatima, Dr. Salman Ahmed Tipu, Prof. Muhammad Umer, Dr. Atif Inam Shami and prof. Jehangir Sarwar highlighted the new methods of treatment. Prof. Naeem Zia further informed that five more workshops will be held in Rawalpindi/Islamabad which would be focused on complicated procedures. He said that with the support of Organizing Committee members Dr. Muhammad Hanif, Dr. Atif Sharif and Dr. Tasleem Akhter, the agenda of International Surgical Week is being followed in letter and spirit to educate and train young surgeons, para medics and nursing staff. He said that Surgecon 2017 will be held on November 10, 2017 at Islamabad.
