“Says Kashmir is not a border dispute between the two countries, it is a matter of right to self-determination of 1.5 million Kashmiris, UN passed a number of resolutions seeking peaceful settlement of the dispute but these resolutions could not be implemented despite the passage of seven decades, dialogue process incomplete without Pakistan and the leadership of Kashmir”

Muzaffarabad: Terming 27th October as the darkest day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir the Chairman of the United Jihad Council (UJC) Syed Salah ud Din said that on this day in 1947 India occupied the territory forcibly and illegally in contravention of international law.

He said, “Kashmiris raised the banner of revolt and liberated some parts of Kashmir, which is called Azad Kashmir”. The UJC chief said that it was India who took the issue to the United Nations. “The UN passed several resolutions seeking peaceful settlement of the dispute but these resolutions could not be implemented despite the passage of seven decades”, Sallahudin said.
Referring to Indian state terrorism in IHK, the UJC chairman said, “Indian army has occupied 28 lakh kanal land in occupied Kashmir and established military infrastructure on it”.
He said that Kashmiris waged a peaceful struggle for 42 years against the illegal and forcible occupation of India. Kashmiris he said were forced to pick up the gun as a last resort to seek justice.
During the ongoing struggle he said “115000 Kashmiris were martyred by Indian troops, thousands of people were wounded and displaced; after the martyrdom of Shaheed Burhan Wani, more than 300 people were blinded by use of pellet guns, whereas hundreds of innocent civilians were martyred and thousands injured during the mass uprising followed by the Wani’s martyrdom in 2016”.

About Indian aggression on Line of Control, Syed said, “Indian is targeting civilian population on LOC daily and turning Kashmir into military state day by day”. Likewise he said the people’s passion for freedom also increases gradually.

Regarding the braid chopping incidents taking place in IHK Chairman UJC said that Indian agencies were involved in this heinous crime.

About Indian Interior Minister’s recent visit to occupied Kashmir, Syed Salah ud Din said that earlier Rajnath Singh invited Kashmiri leadership for talks and now former IB chief has been appointed as interlocutor for Kashmir but the fact remains that these kinds of exercises were nothing new for the people of Kashmir. “India has tried to negotiate many times but history bears testimony to the fact that all these exercises proved futile”, he said adding that Jihadi leadership is not against dialogue but India should first acknowledge that Kashmir is a disputed territory.

Terming Pakistan and Kashmiri leadership as main stake holders to Kashmir dispute the UJC chief there could be no solution unless all parties to the dispute are made part of the dialogue process. He said that India should take practical measures to implement UN resolutions.
Syed said, “India’s dialogue offer to Kashmiris is aimed at deceiving US foreign Minister, who is on tour of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India nowadays”. It is a conspiracy to befool people as well as the international community”, he added.

He said, “Kashmir is not a border dispute between the two countries, but it is a matter of self-determination for the rights of more than 1.5 million Kashmiris”.

Stressing the role of UN, he said that if United Nations can intervene in Sudan and Eastern Timor, why not in Kashmir”. Talking about his family based in Indian occupied Kashmir, chairman UJC said, “My son was blamed that I paid him money in 2011 and I heard that my children’s house was raided and their equipment were seized, I have no any contact with my family since I left occupied Kashmir for Jihad.”
Chairman UJC demanded UN to implement their resolution on Kashmir to stop further massacres of people who already sacrificed thousands of lives.
