ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has vowed to continue to fight for the cause of democracy and sanctity of the vote to take the country forward.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday afternoon, he again expressed his reservations over the Panama Case judgment and said it is the right of the people of Pakistan to decide about the eligibility or ineligibility of an elected representative.

Nawaz Sharif said the people have rejected the Panama Papers case judgment by voting in favor of his party in NA-120 by elections and coming out in big number in his GT road rally.

He said NA-120 decision will be remembered as an important milestone in the country’s political history.

Nawaz Sharif said the cases orchestrated in the dictatorial regime are once again being used against him and his family.

The former Prime Minister said he appeared before the accountability court today. He said the people of the country stand by him and expect that the justice will be delivered.

Talking to leaders of PML (N), who met him in Islamabad today, Nawaz Sharif said he believes in the rule of law.

He said he has always accepted constitutional role of all institutions.

Nawaz Sharif said absence of rule of law sparks apprehensions about confrontation among institutions.
