Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Director FWO Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal paid a visit to National Highways and Motorway Police head office here on Tuesday. During the visit Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal met IG National Highways Dr. Saeed Kaleem and later on participated in Motorway officer promotion ceremony as a special guest.
While appreciating the role of Motor Way Police, the FWO director, said that Motorway Police, which has now emerged as one of the highly reputed and prestigious institutions of the country, introduced a new culture of policing that instilled law-abiding sense and behavior among the masses as a result people were seen strictly following the rules and regulations while traveling on Highways and Motorways. He said that Motorway police and FWO would have to face even greater challenges in the coming days.
Speaking on the occasion the IG Motorways Dr. Saeed Kaleem said that since a massive network of modern highways were being built under the CPEC, the role and responsibilities of Motorway police regarding the policing of large road networks would further increase. To fulfill these responsibilities he said that a comprehensive mechanism was being evolved to meet these challenges
