Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Acting Commissioner Rawalpindi Tallat Mehmood Gondal said that 5-day Anti-Polio campaign will be started in Rawalpindi from 18 to 20th September during which 08-lakh, 29-thousand children below the age of 5 years will be vaccinated with Polio drops.
He said that all the necessary arrangements have been made in this regard and he will personally monitor this campaign. While briefing the meeting, WHO member said that 2181 mobile teams, 287 fixed and 287 transits have been designated for the this purpose.

Moreover, he added that 217 Union council Supervisors and 448 areas in charges have also been deployed for it. Tallat Mehmood Gondal Acting Commissioner Rawalpindi further shared that in order to make this campaign of polio eradication successful along with all government’s arrangements we need to launch an awareness campaign for the people to make them realize the importance of this vaccination and help them get over their myths related to this.
He directed School department to play their vigilant role in this regard and spread the word among children to get them informed about this important issue. The meeting was attended by WHO representatives, health officials and officers of local administration
