Lahore: Federal Minster for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has offered the services of Pakistan Railway for transportation of petrol all over the country to overcome petrol crisis caused due to ongoing countrywide oil tankers strike.

While talking to Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on telephone Tuesday, Rafique expressed grave concern over the situation arising from oil tankers strike saying “we can under no circumstance support the strike culture.

Khawaja Saad claimed that the department has got sufficient number of additional engines as well as rolling stock to supply petrol across the country. Appropriate charges will be received from ministry of petroleum for transportation of petrol, he added.

Saad Rafiq has also directed Chief Executive Officer Railways Muhammad Javed Anwar to contact Pakistan State Oil (PSO) ,

Railways spokesman Najam Wali sadi that that the minister had also asked Senior General Manager Javed Noor to hold a meeting with the officials concerned of the petroleum ministry and to formulate the modalities in case both ministries agreed on the proposal.

Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqaab Abbasi thanked railway minister for the cooperation and vowed to deal with crisis through mutual cooperation and better strategy .
