Sargodha: University of Sargodha and School of Army Strategic Forces have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to impart strategic and military knowledge amongst the students.
A ceremony in this regard was convened in the University premises, which was attended by Vice Chancellor UOS Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed and GOC Maj. Gen. Asif Ali( Hilal-e-Imtiaz). According to the Memorandum of Understanding, both the institutions will train the students in various disciplines. UOS will start a Military Science and Management programme. It was also decided in the bilateral memorandum that school of Army Strategic forces served as an affiliated college which would duty bound to follow the University Charter in letter and spirit. Off and on holding of seminars, professional activities would be the essential part of this institution.

The UOS Registrar Mudassar Kamran and Commandant, SASF Brig. Manzoor signed the MOU and exchanged the documents. UOS has become the third largest institution of the country with which Army school has signed MOU after Quaid Azam and Peshawar University.
Addressing to the MOU ceremony, GOC Maj. General Asif Ali said, “We are the guard of the country and it is our duty to defend its ideology and geographical boundaries”. He declared that our future was more brighten and our forces were more alert to defend any adventure from our regional foe. GOC further said that strategic forces were the back bone in the defense of country and were guarantee of sovereignty and solidarity.
He expressed his full support and cooperation to the University and vowed to remain steadfast for prosperity and innovation of the UOS.
While addressing the ceremony, VC. Dr. Ishtaiq Ahmed termed the day as a historic event of the history of UOS when two institution of immense importance, had assembled to reach an agreement of a unique and prestigious cause of training. He disclosed that it was the need of the hour to show sincerity in every matter of geographic and ideological mood. He also told that Pakistan kept a leading status in the Muslim world bearing unprecedented guts. He lauded the role of army in the prevailing scenario and maintained that our army were defending the country against the internal and external foe of it. While talking about the CPEC project, he said that that would be a landmark and a leap milestone in the history of Pakistan to strengthen and stable economy of it. It would prove a beacon to brighten the Pakistan on the world map, he added. On this occasion, a creative war game “Heroes of 1965” was also displayed by the students computer sciences. GOC Maj. Gen. Asif Ali and V.C. Dr. Ishtiaq commended the efforts and performance of the students to create a patriotic war game to excite the students. Later on, the GOC also took round to medical research centre and hospital of UOS and observed arrangements in newly built block of the University.
