Peshawar: At least two Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel have been martyred, while six others sustained injuries in a roadside blast near Bagh-e-Naran area located in Hayatabad.

A convoy of FC was moving towards its headquarters located in Hayatabad area, when a roadside bomb exploded near a vehicle of FC at Bagh-e-Naran Chowk on Monday, leaving two FC personnel martyred including a Major.

The Security Forces, Police and rescue teams reached and cordoned-off the area. The bodies and injured were rushed to Hayatabad Medical Complex for medico-legal formalities and treatment. FC Major Jamal was also martyred in blast. No group or individual has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

According to Peshawar Cantonment SP Imran Malik said that a loud noise was heard when the FC vehicle was moving towards its headquarters. He further said that the attack was carried out to attack FC convoy, while two vehicles of FC were badly damaged in the blast.

Governor KP Iqbal Zafar Jagrah has condemned the attack and expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives. He said that the coward terrorist attacks could not demoralize the public.
