Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Acting-Commissioner, Rawalpindi and DG, RDA, Talat Mehmud Gondal, inaugurated Monsoon Tree Plantation campaign in Rawalpindi by planting sapling in the lawn of RDA office today.

Director Planning RDA Jamshaid Aftab, Acting Director Finance & Administration Junaid Taj Bhatti and concerned RDA officers were present on this occasion.

Talat Mehmud Gondal talking on the occasion highlighted the importance of plantation and directed that maximum number of saplings should be planted at all available government and private land so that we can avert the negative impacts of global warming and climatic change. He said that students, volunteers, social workers, Civil Defence professionals and citizens belonging to all walks of life should be involved in current Monsoon Tree Plantation campaign.

Meanwhile, the acting-Commissioner, Talat Mehmud Gondal, reviewed 3-day Polio Eradication Campaign in Rawalpindi District in a meeting held today in which CEO District Health Authority Rawalpindi Dr. Fayyaz Ahmed Butt, DHO Dr. Abdul Jabbar, representatives of WHO, UNICET and COMENT were present.

The outcome of 3-day campaign reviewed in detail and action plan was made to resolve the difficulties faced during the campaign including refusal cases. On this occasion, Talat Mehmud Gondal directed to cover the left over kids below five years age group within next couple of days and all out efforts should be made to achieve 100 per cent targets of Anti Polio Drive. He appreciated the hard work of polio field staff and said that it is our joint responsibility to contribute for polio free Pakistan. He asked health professionals to monitor anti polio measures in their respective areas and ensured the compliance of Provincial Health Department and all allied organizations with regard to polio eradication.
