Lahore: Jamaat ud Dawa (JuD) Pakistan will observe Ashra Shuhada-e-Kashmir (Kashmir martyrs’ decade) from 7th to 19th of July.

The decision to this effect was taken during a meeting of JuD, which was chaired by Head Political Affair JuD, Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki here on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by Central, zonal and district representatives of JuD.

In this connection special programs will be held in Lahore and Islamabad whereas public gatherings, conferences and rallies will be arranged in every nook and cranny of Pakistan including Azad Kashmir. On 7th of July, countrywide Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Kashmir (Kashmir martyrs’ day) will be observed. Demonstrations would be staged after Juma prayer and funeral prayer in absentia of Kashmiri martyrs will be offered.

On 8th of July, JuD will participate in the program being organized by United Jihad Council in Muzaffarabad. In Islamabad, Shuhada-e-Kashmir Conference will be arranged on 16th of July, in commemoration of Kashmiri martyrs. Public rally will be held in Lahore on 19th of July, on the occasion of ‘Accession to Pakistan Day’, which will be attended by leaders of various political and religious parties of Pakistan as well as the Kashmiri leadership hailing from both sides of the line of control.

Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki said that Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and other JuD leaders were detained for observing ‘year 2017 for Kashmiris’. He accused India and America of suppressing each and every voice being raised in favour of Kashmiris right of self-determination.

He told the participants that the purpose of holding such programs was to express solidarity with oppressed Kashmiris. “Whole Pakistani nation stands shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiris brethren.” he added.
