Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Over 30 percent seats of BS 1-15 in 14 Commerce Colleges have been lying vacant located in Rawalpindi Division for quite some time, due to which educational activities in the colleges have been badly affected.
Higher Education Department Punjab has sought details regarding vacant seats from Deputy Director Commerce. The Commerce Colleges wherein the posts are lying vacant include Government Commerce College Rawalpindi, Government Institute of Commerce Rawalpindi for Boys, Government Institute of Commerce for Women Rawalpindi, Government Commerce College Murree, Government Institute of Commerce Gujar Khan, Government Institute of Commerce Kahuta, Government Institute of Commerce Attock, Government Institute of Commerce Pindighape, Government Institute of Commerce Jhand, Government College for Commerce Jhelum, Government Institute of Commerce Jhelum for Women, Government Institute of Commerce Pindad Khan for Women, Government Institute of Commerce Chakwal, Government Institute of Commerce Talagang. Around 29 seats of Chowkidars were allocated, while 12 among them are lying vacant. Only 2 seats of Naib-Qasid are lying vacant among 19 seats, three seats of Gardeners are lying vacant among 17.
Moreover, 11 posts of Sweepers are lying vacant among 23, while two seats of Cook are lying vacant among three.
Overall 96 posts of employees BPS1-15 were sanctioned in Commerce College located in Rawalpindi Division. 65 seats were filled through recruitment while only 31 are lying vacant as yet.
