QUETTA: (Parliament Times) In Balochistan, 820 small dams and eight medium dams have been constructed to meet the growing need of water in the province.

This was informed to Senate functional committee on problems of less developed areas which met in Islamabad today with Usman Khan Kakar in the chair.

The committee was also informed that work on 234 more small dams and four medium dams are in process.

Discussing the projects in less developed areas, the meeting observed that Malakand division witnesses small floods every year.

It was told that National Flood Protection Plan is a programme of ten years and 325 billion rupees have been allocated in budget for the next year.
