Mirpur: (Parliament Times) The Managing Director Overseas Pakistani Foundation, Habib ur Rehman Gilani has said that OPF was striving hard to provide maximum facilities to the expatriates from all areas of Pakistan and AJK.

This was observed by the Managing Director OPF, Habib ur Rehman Gilani while talking to Minister for Development (Azad Jamu and Kashmir), Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed who visited OPF Head office here on Wednesday. He said that the OPF was providing meritorious services in all areas including education, health, housing and other fields.

The AJK minister was given a detailed briefing on the services being offered by OPF and also the areas of mutual collaboration between OPF and AJK government. The Managing Director briefed the Minister about various welfare activities of OPF and said that OPF provides financial assistance to the bereaved families of Pakistani expatriates who died abroad or become permanently disabled.

He further said that OPF has established housing schemes and educational institutions across the country to cater educational and housing needs of expatriates. He informed that OPF provides fifty percent subsidy in tuition fee to children of expatriates and has recently launched E-Learning program in its main educational institutions.

The Managing Director informed the Minister about activities of OPF in AJK and discussed matters pertaining to OPF Housing Scheme Chitarpari, Mirpur. He said that in order to address grievances of Kashmiri expatriates and to provide them more services, OPF is about to establish its state of the art Regional Office at OPF Housing Scheme Chitarpari, Mirpur.

The Minister assured the Managing Director for all cooperation of his Ministry for provision of more facilities to Kashmiri expatriates. The Minister emphasized the need for early colonization of OPF Housing Scheme, Mirpur. He assured his support for the initiatives of the OPF.
