Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, complete strike was observed in Sopore, Tral and Bhadarwah areas against the recent killing of youth by Indian troops.

Life remained affected for the second consecutive day, today, due to strike in Sopore town and adjoining areas including Bomai in protest against the killing of two youth Basharat Ahmad Sheikh and Aijaz Ahmad Mir by Indian forces at Nathipora on Thursday. All shops and business establishments were closed in Sopore.

In Tral town of Pulwama district, the shutdown continued on the seventh day to mourn the martyrdom of Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Sabzar Ahmad Butt, and other martyrs who were killed by Indian troops at Saimhoh in Tral on May 27.

On the other hand, shutdown was also observed in Bhadarwah district of Jammu region on the call of Anjuman-e-Islamia Bhadarwah against the killings in the Kashmir Valley. Shops, business establishments and private schools of the Muslim community remained closed on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the puppet authorities placed Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Ayaz Akbar, Muhammad Ashraf Laya and Shahid-ul-Islam under house arrest, today.
