Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan while appreciating the Karachi based Buhra Community investors for showing keen interest for investing in different industrial sectors in Azad Kashmir has said that their earnest desire was an expression of their trust and confidence over the incumbent state government’s policies.

The AJK president made these assertions while addressing a luncheon held for the investor’s delegation at President House Muzaffarabad. The delegation comprising leading investors and traders of Bohra Community that revisited the capital of the State on the other day and took interest in investment after having been satisfied on the law and order and security situation in AJK. The Legislative Assembly Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir, Mustansar Bhai Punaywala the head of delegation, AJK minister for Industry and social welfare Noureen Arif and representatives of traders body Azad Kashmir were present on the occasion.

President Masood Ahmed Khan told the visiting delegates that Neelum valley was the best and suitable place for Pharmaceutical Industry where medicinal plants grow in abundance. He said that the environment as well as the land in the valley was also suitable for the cultivation of medicinal plants. Referring to huge water resources present in the Neelum valley the president said that clean drinking water from this mountainous region could be supplied throughout the country. He said that cheap and alternative fuel can also be supplied to the people of the region by setting up SNG plants in Neelum Valley adding that this will also help in protecting our forests.

Khan said that Neelum valley is full of other natural resources that include white marble and granite, which he said could be exported abroad at a large scale. He said that AJK offers great investment opportunities in different sectors like tourism, agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, housing and land development. He said that foreign investment in the region would greatly help to overcome the surging unemployment in the area.

Meanwhile the President inaugurated newly constructed President Secretariat in Muzaffarabad. The 3-story building has 55 rooms and has been built at a cost of 90 crore rupees with the financial assistance of China under reconstruction programme. He expressed thanks to Democratic Republic of China, Pakistan, ERRA/SERRA for construction of President Secretariat with modern facilities.
