“Police baton charge PTI protesters in Muzaffarabad”

Muzaffarabad:(Parliament Times) Following the Pakistan Supreme Court’s verdict on Panama case Pakistan Tehreek Insaf workers on Monday staged protest demonstrations in Azad Kashmir demanding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down for fair probe into the Panama leaks issue by the Joint Investigation Team.

The PTI workers held “Go Nawaz Go rallies” at capital city Muzaffarabad, Bagh and other district and tehsil headquarters of Azad Kashmir, which were attended and addressed by the central leaders of the party. Shouting slogans against Prime Minister of Pakistan the participants on the occasion while demanding resignation from Pak premier said that corrupt prime minister was totally unacceptable.

While addressing “Go Nawaz Go” rally at Hyderi chowk in Bagh district Chudhary Sultan Mehmood said that Sharif had lost the moral ground and authority to rule the country.

Meanwhile, AJK police swung into action to foil PTI workers bid to stage a protest demonstration near Shaheed Burhan Wani chowk in Muzaffarabad. According to reports the police personnel resorted to baton charge when PTI workers refused to disperse from the scene. PTI leaders Khawaja Farooq, ex-minister Abdul Majid Khan, district president Jawad Gillani who were leading the protesters were taken into preventive custody and latter on released by the authorities
