Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, people including students of different educational institutions staged massive anti-India demonstrations, today, while Indian police used brute force against the protesters, causing injuries to many protesters.
Call for the demonstrations was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, to protest against the worst kind of state terrorism unleashed by Indian forces on students across the Kashmir Valley. Over one hundred students have been injured some of them critically due to the use of brute force by Indian men in uniform on protesting students during the past one week.
The puppet authorities deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength across the occupied territory, today, to prevent the protests. However, people including students took to the streets in Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal, Sopore, Palhalan, Baramulla, Bijbehara, Tral, Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Kupwara, Bandipore, Sumbal, Ajas, Aloosa and other areas. The protests were led by Hurriyet leaders including Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Qazi Yasir, Ghulam Nabi Zaki and Noor Muhammad Kalwal. The demonstrators raised high-pitched pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans. They also waved Pakistani flags at various places. Intense clashes between the protesters and Indian police erupted in many areas after police personnel fired teargas shells to disperse the protesters. Several demonstrators were injured in the police actions.
The puppet authorities suspended class work in schools and colleges, today, to stop students from holding protests. The authorities also continued to put Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Shabbir Ahmed Shah, under house arrest.
Hurriyet leaders, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Shabbir Ahmed Shah, in their statements denounced the recent assertion of Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Ram Madhav, wherein he tried to justify the atrocities of Indian forces on the Kashmiri people saying that everything was fair in love and war.
Syed Ali Gilani, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Farida Bahenji, Zamruda Habib, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir and Muhammad Ahsan Untoo in their statements paid tributes to martyred youth, Muzaffar Ahmad. Muzaffar Ahmad was injured in Ganderbal after Indian forces opened fire on peaceful demonstrators on the day of polling for sham Indian parliamentary by-elections on 9th April and succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Srinagar on Wednesday.
In the Indian city of Hyderabad, the Maulana Azad National Urdu University Students’ Union, took out a protest march in the campus to condemn the unchecked state terrorism unleashed by Indian forces upon the students and the people in occupied Kashmir. Banners asking students and people from occupied Kashmir to leave Uttar Pradesh have come up in Meerut in the wake of incidents of stone-pelting on Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. The banners have been put up by an extremist Hindu organization, Uttar Pradesh Nav Nirman Sena. The outfit said, it is only the first step and it will launch an aggressive campaign from 30th April to banish the Kashmiris who do not leave the Uttar Pradesh on their own.
