KARACHI: Sohail Khan, who celebrated his 33rd birthday on 6th March this year, seems to be running out of luck, as the Test fast bowler was completely ignored for the West Indies tour.

Sohail, who took 16 wickets this year in PSL and lifted the best bowler trophy of the tournament, was not included in any of the three formats for the West Indies tour.

According to some reports, coach Mickey Arthur does not want Sohail in any team. On the other hand, chief selector Inzamam ul Haq has said it was his decision to not include Sohail in any format.

The pacer, who took 27 wickets in 9 Test matches, was seen at his best in England last year with his double 5-wicket haul during the tour.

The general perception about Sohail is that he can bowl well usually in the first innings but does not remain too effective in the second innings. Rahat Ali and Imran Khan Jr are in the same boat, as both could not find a place in the Test team for the Windies tour.

Surprisingly, fast bowler Mohammad Amir, despite his poor performance in the Australia tour, has maintained his place not only in ODIs but also in the Test squad.

Pakistan face West Indies in the first ODI of the tour today at 6:30pm PST.
