Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmad Shah has reiterated his appeal for complete boycott of sham Indian parliamentary by-elections in the territory.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “These so-called elections will make everything clear; whether people love the martyrs or fall into the trap of those who kill and blind our children.”

He said the whole world is keenly observing the people of Kashmir whether they will boycott the pro-India elements whose hands are smeared with the blood of innocent people or support them. “This is a testing time and a matter of honour for us. We have to give a befitting reply to pro-India elements and make them accountable for the blood they shed of innocents,” he said.

He said: “We’re not against any democratic process but to support the elections conducted by the imperialists and the merchants of blood will tantamount to strengthening of the illegal and forcible occupation that has enslaved us.”

Shabbir Shah also appealed to the youth to remain vigilant of the anti-movement forces and continue the freedom struggle with zeal and vigor.

The DFP chairman termed the pro-India elections as the biggest joke of the century, saying, nowhere in the world are people caged for conducting polls. “Only the shameless people become part of such activity,” he added.

Meanwhile, the DFP spokesperson in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the arrest of dozens of pro-freedom leaders and activists including Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Molvi Bashir Ahmad and Tanveer Ahmad. “This is nothing but the frustration of the so-called administration. Our freedom movement will continue despite such suppressive measures,” he maintained.
