Muzaffarabad:(Parliament Times) Former Prime Minister of Norway and globally known human rights activist Kjell Magne Bondevik will visit AJK on the invitation of President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan
Mr Bondevik is arriving in Islamabad on Wednesday and will hold meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz sharif and chairman Kashmir Committee Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman and later will fly to Muzaffarabad on Thursday for a brief visit to state capital. The Norwagian leader will be briefed on LoC situation and in evening he will hold meetings with President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan and leaders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK Chapter to discuss situation prevails in Occupied Kashmir. He will also visit Kashmiri refugee camps located in and around Muzaffarabad and places affected by Indian shelling along the Line of Control on Friday. AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan will also host a dinner in his honour on Friday. President expressed his hope that visit of honourable Bondevik will be highly beneficial in the context of heightening unrest in Occupied Kashmir and Indian provocative acts at LoC
Meanwhile talking to Minister for Social Welfare and Women development Noreen Arif President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan said the government is taking tangible steps to empower women in the society. He said special measures are being taken for the welfare of women folk.
Sardar Masood Khan directed Social Welfare Ministry to launch a comprehensive program for imparting technical and vocational skills and creating employment opportunities for the women.
Meanwhile, presiding over a meeting of the Vice Chancellors of five AJK based universities, the AJK President directed to ensure quality education and transparency in the recruitment in higher educational institutions.
