Warsaw (Poland) : The Kashmir Council European Union (KCEU) organized one-day camp in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, to continue its one-million signature campaign on Kashmir. The similar camps had already been organized in different European countries in connection with the campaign.

The KCEU had launched the signature campaign in Europe in recent years to obtain signatures of European people in favour of oppressed people of occupied Kashmir.

On the occasion of camp in Warsaw, the KCEU Chairman, Ali Raza Syed said that the purpose of the camp was to highlight Indian atrocities on the Kashmiri people. The organisers of the camp called upon the European Union to send a fact-finding delegation to Srinagar and probe the brutalities of Indian forces’ personnel on the Kashmiris.

During the camp, despite severe cold weather, a large number of the Polish people showed their keen interest in the event and express solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir.

Ali Raza Syed said that last year witnessed killings of a number of innocent people in occupied Kashmir by Indian forces during peaceful protests due to massive use of pellets, bullets and teargas shells against the civilians. He informed the visitors during the camp that Indian forces violated international laws by using pellet guns on peaceful demonstrations which damaged eyes of a large number of innocent people.

Ali Raza Syed said, “We have speeded up our campaign to expose the real face of India to the world especially Europeans. We will continue our support to the people of Kashmir till resolution of the Kashmir dispute.” He said, people of Kashmir are struggling peacefully for securing their right to self-determination and there should be plebiscite under the UN supervision to decide the political fate of the disputed territory.

He urged the European Union to play its role for peaceful settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute
