Islamabad:Â (Parliament Times)Â AJK president Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan while eulogizing the role of World Muslim League for progress and prosperity of Muslims around the world stressed on the need of projecting Islam as progressive and moderate religion. Addressing at a reception hosted by President Muslim Conference Sardar Attique Ahmed in honour of Secretary General World Muslim League, Professor Dr Muhammad Bin Abdul Karim Al Essa, the president said Islam is not only a progressive religion but also quite opposed to terrorism and extremism. He called for complete unity among the Muslims living around the globe and said disunity is one of biggest reasons of present state of Muslims. Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan also paid rich tributes to Sardar Muhammad Abdul Qayyum Khan and termed him great hero of Kashmir Liberation Movement.
Earlier President during his meeting with member of AJK Legislative Assembly Raja Muhammad Naseer Khan said government will investigate the complaints of the appointments in Universities in violation of merit and on the basis of nepotism.  He president said that Kotli University is comparatively new and hard work is required to bring it at par with other universities of the state. He sought suggestions from elected representatives, lawyers, journalists and other conscientious people of the society to improve the performance of the university. The member of Legislative Assembly Raja Muhammad Naseer Khan earlier brought several public complaints about the functioning of university including massive induction of employees belonging to particular clan that had deprived talented people of the district from their right to job on merit. The member of assembly informed the president that people of Azad Kashmir attached great expectations to the president to take drastic measures for the betterment of the universities. The president gave patient hearing to the MLA and assured him that appropriate steps would be taken for redressal of the public complaints.
