Muzaffarbad:  (Parliament Times)  AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that PML (N) government was taking revolutionary steps to empower women.

Talking to a delegation of female students from Baluchistan here on Monday, he said that dream of progress cannot be materialized without participation of women in the development process. He said that women had played significant role in the evolution of the society and other spheres of life.

The prime minister said that women should come in field after acquiring education to join hands in progress of the country. He added that women of our country were very talented and they have to use their talent for the welfare and betterment of the country. He said that AJK government had taken historic and revolutionary steps for economic and social empowerment of women and still more has to be done.

The prime minister said that revolutionary steps have been taken for uplift of women in AJK which includes increase of  quota in government jobs and  protection of their rights.

He said that Pakistani women like that of other Islamic countries, will also have to come forward and play their due role in the practical field. He said that AJK government had taken steps for the welfare of women and it would continue doing so in future as well.

He deplored the apathy of international community towards the Kashmiris’ just struggle, based on the universal principle of right to self-determination. He said that the will of world nations had become subservient to their self and strategic interests; otherwise the Kashmir issue could have been resolved long ago. He said that the current uprising was unprecedented in the 70-year history of Kashmir’s resistance movement.

“Kashmiris never accepted Kashmir as part of India,they continued their struggle for the liberation from Indian occupation forces.Kashmiris love Pakistan and it’s their final destination,”he said. Raja Farooq Haider condemned the worst human rights situation in the state and  said that Indian forces have turned Kashmir into big Jail.

Farooq Haider said that no matter how much force is used in occupied Kashmir, the political aspiration of people of Jammu and Kashmir cannot be suppressed, and that the freedom movement will reach its logical conclusion. He said Pakistan is final shelter for Kashmiris and they will continue sacrificing for freedom to join Pakistan. Former MNA Sameena Saeed, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed and Shakir Abbasi were also present on the occasion. Earlier,  the prime minister also hosted a dinner in the honor of guests.
