Birmingham: The Kashmir Concern, UK, organised an All Parties Conference to laud the services of Birmingham councilors and former president of All Parties International Coordination Committee, Fazal Ahmed Qadri.

The councilors, Zakirullah and Waseem Zafar, who moved the motion along with councilor, Maryam were present on the occasion.

Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, Chief Patron of Kashmir Concern, chaired the conference and also briefed the media about the latest situation in occupied Kashmir. The representatives of the different political parties attended the function.

The consensus that emerged at the meeting declared that the people of Kashmir would continue their struggle till securing their right to self-determination. The Indian state terrorism and the character of present communal regime of Narendra Modi would be exposed. The adoption of a resolution by the largest council of Europe in favour of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination although the first drop in the ocean is gathering momentum and other councils are following the suit.

The programme announced by the joint resistance leadership in occupied Kashmir in the aftermath of Indian Supreme Court decision has been endorsed. It is a matter of great concern as it is Indian plan to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir.

Professor Shawl in his address paid tributes to all Kashmiri martyrs. Burhan Wani’s martyrdom has catalysed the onward march of the movement. People of the occupied territory have suffered hardships but they have unanimously conveyed to the whole world that freedom from India is the only option for them, he added. He lauded the services of Fazal Ahmed Qadri in highlighting the Kashmir cause across the UK. Professor Shawl hailed the efforts made by councilors and parliamentarians to highlight the Kashmir dispute.

Fazal Ahmed Qadri said that he would continue his mission with the cooperation of all the constituents of International Kashmir Coordination Committee. He congratulated the members of the council for the adoption of the resolution.

Councilor Zakirullah said that Kashmir problem was a matter of life and death for the people of Kashmir. He thanked all his colleagues for supporting his motion.

Former UKIM President, Maulana Sarfaraz Madni in his address said, “We need to remain united in word and deed.”

Chudhry Khadim Hussain of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf appreciated the efforts of the elected members of the councils and the parliament and ensured his complete support.

Mohammed Ghalib of Tehreek-e-Kashmir, Europe, highlighted the role of Kashmiri diaspora in highlighting Kashmir dispute and briefed the participants about his efforts made in Europe in this regard.

Fahim Kiyani of Tehreek-e-Kashmir, UK, announced to hold a massive peaceful demonstration on July 9, 2017, to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani.

Others who spoke on the occasion included Inam-ul-Haque, Chaudhry Manzoor Hussain, Chaudhry Ali Shan, Dr Showkat Khan, Hafiz Idrees, Advocate Zafar Iqbal, Haji Mohammad Bashir, Chaudhry Mohammad Nawaz and Raja Showkat.

General Secretary of the Kashmir Concern, UK, Sajid Yousaf moderated the event.
