Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Ambassador of Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Mr. Furkat Siddikov said Pakistan and Uzbekistan commonly share the faith, culture and customs which strength the diplomatic relations of both countries. Uzbek Envoy applauded the efforts of Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS) to promote the relations of brotherly countries and hoped that such kind of initiative must be continued to show the gesture of goodwill in order to enhance more good bilateral relations. Mr. Furkat Siddikov praised the Urdu language and said it will be surprising for you that in Uzbekistan we have develop Urdu language departments in universities and many of our diplomats are taught basic Urdu language through those institutions. He was addressing the Launching Ceremony of a historic book “Zaheer Uddin Babur” written by Mr. Pirimkul Kyderov and translated & printed by National Book Foundation in Urdu Language. The ceremony was jointly organized by Embassy of Republic of Uzbekistan and Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS) headed by Mrs. Farhat Asif.

Addressing on the occasion Prof. Dr. Inam ul Haq Javed, Managing Director, National Book Foundation (NBF) said IPDS was playing a remarkable role as a bridge among the diplomatic circles of Islamabad. He said with the efforts of Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS) team we established a Hafiz Sherazi corner and Ibn Kholdon point at National Book Foundation. He praised the speakers on their efforts to provide intuitive analysis about Mughal emperor Zahir Ud Din Babar. Dr. Haq assured to continue such erudite gatherings to benefit those who interested in learning history of the past.

Mr. Abdul Basit, Associate Professor, Department of History, Allama Iqbal Open University explained the insight of the writer and historical perspective of the book. He said Zaheer Uddin Babur was a model for all generations and popularity of his novel in different languages show his reputation. Dr. Sajid Awan, Senior Research Fellow, National Institute of Historical and Cultural Research, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad shed comprehensive light on the essential aspects of the book in a variety of poetic diction largely grabbed the attention of the audience. He said unique thing of this novel is that it represents the true culture of uzbek society. He also provided the brief but insightful overview of the book by reading the different segments from the remarkable excerpt of translation of Mr. Pirimkul Kyderov phenomenal work.

At the end Ms. Farhat Asif, President, Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS briefed the audience about the activities of IPDS and how its function to bring closer different nations for better understanding. She said there is a dire need to establish people to people contacts, cultural linkages and academic excellence between brotherly countries of Central Asia. The ceremony was attended by people from academic circles, Government officials, diplomats, mass media and students of different universities.
