RAWALPINDI:Â (Parliament Times) Two cricket matches were played in the Rawalpindi Region One-Day Cup being held under the Rawalpindi Region Cricket Association. Rawalpindi Green defeated Rawalpindi Blue in the match held in the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, while team of Attock District was defeated by Chakwalin the match held at the Diamond Ground Islamabad.
Five teams of four districts are taking part in the tournament which are: Rawalpindi Green, Rawalpindi Blue, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum. Rawalpindi Blue bat first and secured 203 at the loss of eight wickets. Azaz was the best batsman from Rawalpindi Blue who secured 42. Naqi from Rawalpindi Green bowled nine overs, gave 35 runs and claimed three wickets. Rawalpindi Green achieved the target in 33 overs at the loss of two wickets. Zeesham Malik remained “not out†at 95. Ulfat Shah and Imran got one wicket each.
In the second match, Chakwal defeated Attock by 27 runs. Chakwal bat first and secured 188 runs. Khurram secured 46, while Raja Mubeen 22. Farooq got four wickets. Attock were all-out at 161. Saqib secured 62 runs, while Faisal and Ajman got three wickets each.
