Abbaspur: (Parliament Times) People from different shades of life including politicians are divided over the matter whether Pakistan should participate in Heart of Asia Conference to be held in New Delhi or not. Taking part in a debate on Radio Voice of Kashmir FM 105, former AJK Prime Minister and President All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Sardar Attique Khan, former AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan supported Pakistan’s participation in the multi- lateral moot and said that Pakistan should not lose this opportunity. Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan said Pakistan has firm and principled stand on Kashmir issue and does not need to go in isolation. Pakistan, MC leader said must not lose this opportunity to hold dialogue with Indian leadership. He said that Pakistan’s avoidance to participate in the Heart of Asia Conference will provide India an opportunity to unleash propaganda against Pakistan. Former AJK president Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan said that it is in the interest of Pakistan to avail the opportunity and make India realized that dialogue is only way forward to resolve differences between the two important countries of South Asia. Prominent journalists and social worker Irshad Mahmood also supported pakistan’s participation in the heart of Asia conference. The Chief of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party Sardar Khalid Ibrahid and renowned intellectual Agha Masoom opposed Pakistan’s participation in the event and argued that in present circumstances when Indian forces are committing worst atrocities on people of Kashmir both in occupied territory and at LoC dialogues with India would be nothing but a futile exercise.
