Muzaffarabad:(Parliament Times) Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said AJK can achieve self reliance by harnessing the potential of hydropower generation and developing the tourism sector.
Addressing the central bar association in Muzaffarabad on Monday, he said it is our responsibility to take the economy of the state to self- sufficiency and no one would be allowed to usurp the rights of common people. The Prime Minister said he will not sit idle till corruption is eradicated and haram (unlawful) is separated from the halal (lawful) in the society.
He lauded the role of judiciary and said it always made decisions on merit in difficult times.
The Prime Minister said government would increase the number of Judges of High Court and assured the lawyers community that its problems including providing healthcare facilities equal to Grade-17 officer and land for housing society would be resolved. The Prime Minister also announced one million rupees for Central Bar Association.
Referring to the situation obtaining in Occupied Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider Khan said that India was trying to crush the peaceful liberation struggle of people of Jammu and Kashmir through worst atrocities and state terrorism. He said he shook the conscience of European countries and international human rights organizations during his visit to take notice of the massive human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir. He said overseas Kashmiris would be further mobilized to raise Kashmir issue more effectively on international forums. He said National Kashmir Conference would soon be held in Muzaffarabad.
About the reforms in education sector, Prime Minister said department is being purged of black sheep by introducing NTS system to end the culture of corruption and ensure merit and rule of law.
