LAHORE :(Parliament Times)  Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered a major crackdown against the anti-social elements, criminals and proclaimed offenders in the province, the Radio Pakistan reported.

While chairing a high level meeting in Lahore on Sunday, the Chief Minister directed to take indiscriminate action against the criminal elements and take every necessary measure for the protection of public s lives and properties.

He said police force will have to perform effectively and vibrantly to ensure the atmosphere of peace and law and order.

The directives were issued after reports of rampant street crime incidents in Lahore and other cities of the province.

Earlier today, three persons were injured in exchange of fire between rival groups in Batapur area of Lahore.

Last night, a father of five was killed in Lahore’s Factory Area over robbery resistance. The victim was taking his daughter to hospital for medical checkupwhen the incident occurred.

Another two persons were injured in a shooting incident outside Shalimar Police Station.
