Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir Sikandar Sultan Raja has directed all the heads of AJK departments to get equipped with modern information technology. Talking to Director General Information Technology Board Punjab, Faisal Yusaf, he said that Chief Minister Punjab on the request of AJK Prime Minister had already directed all the departments of provincial government’s departments to cooperate with AJK government. Inspector general Police Azad Kashmir Bashir Memon, Additional Chief Secretary (General) Farhat Ali Mir, Secretaries to the government and heads of the various departments were also present on the occasion.

The CS Azad Kashmir said measures are being taken to promote e- governance in the state by equipping all the departments with information Technology System with the aim to provide respite to the people .He said government has planned to set up Citizen Feedback and Monitoring System, E- Facilitation Centers and other related projects.

He said Federal Ministry for Kashmir Affairs on the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is providing funds for the purpose. He said Information Technology Board team is currently visiting Azad Kashmir under the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif to assess the needs of AJK to develop software for AJK departments.

The Chief Secretary said that with the introduction e- governance, multiple facilities will be available to the people of Azad Kashmir. He said information technology is not only need of the time but can also help get quick response to both government and the people. The Chief Secretary also directed the State Disaster Management Authority to provide relief to the effectees of Indian shelling at LoC without any delay.
