Mirpur:  Municipal Corporation Mirpur has started cleanliness drive to make the city dirt free and tidy. The cleanliness drive was launched from Y-Cross area of the city where a ceremony was held before launching the campaign. The ceremony was attended by member of the Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed, Deputy Commissioner Ansar Yaqoob, Administrator Municipal Corporation, Chaudhry Ghulam Yaseen, Additional  Deputy Commissioner General, Raja Muhammad Farooq Akram Khan, Assistant Commissioner, Raja Qaiser Aurangzeb, Estate Officer, Ashfaq Ahmed Noor, Chaudhry Razzaq, X-En Corporation, Imtiaz Butt, District Information Officer, Muhammad Javed Malik and representatives of a social welfare organization, Muslim Hands. It was decided that main roads of city would be cleaned during the drive and later streets and residential areas of the city would be cleaned.

Speaking on the occasion, Member of AJK Legislative Assembly from City, Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed said that Mirpur is an international city and it is our collective responsibility to keep it quite clean and tidy. He urged the Municipal Corporation and other relevant department to create awareness about the importance of cleanliness among the people and added that clean environ would result into less diseases.

Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed said he will fully cooperate with the Municipal Corporation in his capacity as elected representative of the city and call for concerted efforts to make the city livable. Chaudhry Saeed further said there should be strict monitoring system to check the performance of the employees responsible to keep the city clean and uncluttered.
